Jakub Skrobanek
Jakub Skrobanek (born c. 1835 - died 1910) was a merchant, banker and mayor of Cieszyn. He was owner of tenement on marketplace in Cieszyn. From 1873 until 1894, he was councillor of Cieszyn. From 1875, after resignation of Johann Demel von Elswehr Johann, typically a male given name, is the German form of ''Iohannes'', which is the Latin form of the Greek name ''Iōánnēs'' (), itself derived from Hebrew name '' Yochanan'' () in turn from its extended form (), meaning "Yahweh is Gracious ..., until 1876 he served as mayor of the city. On 16 February 1898, he became Honorary Citizen of Cieszyn. Cieszyn
Cieszyn ( , ; cs, Těšín ; german: Teschen; la, Tessin; szl, Ćeszyn) is a border town in southern Poland on the east bank of the Olza River, and the administrative seat of Cieszyn County, Silesian Voivodeship. The town has 33,500 inhabitants (as of December 2021), and lies opposite Český Těšín in the Czech Republic. Both towns belong to the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia, and formerly as one town composed the capital of the Duchy of Cieszyn.
