Jakub Landovský
Jakub Landovský (born 5 September 1976), is a Czech politician, lawyer, and university pedagogue, who previously served as the ambassador to NATO from 2019 to 2024. He had served as the Deputy Minister of Defense from 2015 to 2019. He was a member of the ČSSD 2006 – 2024. Biography Jakub Landovský was born in Prague on 5 September 1976. From 1996 to 2003, he attended graduated with a bachelor's and subsequently a master's degree from the Institute of Political Science, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Prague (he obtained the degree of Mgr.) Jiří Šedivý
Jiří Šedivý (born 20 August 1963) is a Czech politician and diplomat. Although not member of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), Šedivý has served in various ministerial positions in ODS-led governments. Specifically, he served as Minister of Defence (September 2006 – January 2007) and as Deputy Minister for European Affairs (January–August 2007) under Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek, and again as Deputy Minister of Defence (November 2010 – August 2012) under Prime Minister Petr Nečas. In September 2007, he became the highest-ranking Czech in NATO's history when he became the Assistant Secretary General for Defence Policy and Planning. Prague City Council
The Prague City Council, officially the Council of the Capital City of Prague (), is the executive body of Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic. It is appointed by the Prague City Assembly, who elects the council from their own members. The council has 11 members, including the Mayor of Prague, four deputy mayors, and six other councillors. Pavel Landovský
Pavel Landovský (11 September 1936 – 10 October 2014), nicknamed Lanďák, was a Czech actor, playwright, and director. He was a prominent dissident under the communist regime of former Czechoslovakia. Biography Landovský was born in Havlíčkův Brod in 1936, and after finishing his studies at the secondary technical school of mechanical engineering, he tried four times to enter the Faculty of Theatre in Prague, without success. He started his acting career as a supernumerary actor in the regional theatre in Teplice and continued to perform in regional theatres in Šumperk, Klatovy, and Pardubice. The first play that he wrote, ''Hodinový hoteliér'', premiered at the Činoherní klub theatre in Prague on 11 May 1969. In 1971, the communist regime banned him from film and television. 2024 Social Democracy (Czech Republic) Leadership Election
An election for the leader of Social Democracy (SOCDEM) was held on 5 October 2024 due to the resignation of the incumbent Michal Šmarda. Background SOCDEM (then named the Czech Social Democratic Party) participated in the 2021 Czech legislative election, receiving only 4.65% votes and losing all its seats in the Chamber of Deputies. Leader Jan Hamáček announced he would resign as a result. Michal Šmarda was elected the new leader afterwards. Czech Radio
Czech Radio (, ČRo) is the public radio broadcaster of the Czech Republic operating continuously since 1923. It is the oldest national radio broadcaster in continental Europe and the second-oldest in Europe after the BBC. Czech Radio was established in 1992 by the Czech Radio Act, which sets out the framework for its operation and finance. Prague 1, formally the Prague 1 Municipal District (), is a Prague city districts, second-tier municipality in Prague. It is co-extensive with the national administrative district (''správní obvod'') of the same name. Prague 1 includes most of the medieval heart of the city.
