Jakobínarína
Jakobínarína were an Icelandic six-piece indie-punk band from Hafnarfjörður. Jakobinarina were formed by Ágúst Fannar Ásgeirsson, Björgvin Ingi Pétursson, Gunnar Bergmann, Hallberg Dadi Hallbergsson, Heimir Gestur Valdimarsson and Sigurdur Möller Sívertsen in 2004 when they were at school and gained attention and success after they won the Icelandic version of Battle of the Bands, Músíktilraunir in 2005. In 2006, they performed at the South by Southwest festival, and released their first EP ''His Lyrics Are Disastrous'' on Rough Trade Records. The First Crusade (album)
''The First Crusade'' is the only studio album by the Icelandic band Jakobínarína. It was released on October 1, 2007 on 12 Tónar in Europe, and on Regal/ EMI in the UK. The First Crusade was released on CD and LP. The original track listing listed "I've Got A Date With My Television" and "So, Spit Me In The Eye" as "(I've Got A Date With) My Television" and "Spit Me In The Eye". Jakobinarina disbanded shortly after the album's release on March 8, 2008. 12 Tónar
12 Tónar (, 'twelve tones') is a record shop in Reykjavík, Iceland, and also a record label for Icelandic artists. It is located on Skólavörðustígur 15, in downtown Reykjavík. Founded in 1998 in Reykjavík, 12 Tónar has been well received by music lovers from the start. The store quickly became a meeting point for musicians such as Björk, Sigur Rós, múm, and the core of classical composers and performers. 12 Tónar is also an independent record label with nearly 80 releases in its catalogue. Hafnarfjörður
Hafnarfjörður, officially Hafnarfjarðarkaupstaður, is a port town and municipality in Iceland, located about south of Reykjavík. The municipality consists of two non-contiguous areas in the Capital Region (Iceland), Capital Region, on the southwest coast of the country. Parlophone Records Limited (also known as Parlophone Records and Parlophone) is a record label founded in Germany in 1896 by the Carl Lindström Company as Parlophon. Rough Trade Records is an independent record label based in London, England. It was formed in 1976 by Geoff Travis, who had opened a record store off Ladbroke Grove. It is currently run by co-managing directors Travis and Jeannette Lee and is affiliated with Beggars Group. South by Southwest (SXSW) is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and Convention (meeting), conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas.
