Jake Rogers (footballer)
Jake Rogers is a professional Australian rules footballer who was selected by the Gold Coast Suns with the fourteenth pick in the 2023 AFL draft. Early life Rogers was born in Melbourne to an Australian father and a South African mother. He moved with his family to the Gold Coast at five years of age and attended Varsity College throughout his upbringing. Rogers began playing junior football for the first time shortly after arriving in Queensland when he signed up to play for the Broadbeach Cats in the local Gold Coast under-6s competition. Rogers became a foundation member of the Gold Coast Suns when they entered the Australian Football League in 2011 and he joined the club's Academy at 13 years of age where he met future AFL teammates Jed Walter, Ethan Read and Will Graham. 2024 AFL Season
The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football. Through the AFL Commission, the AFL also serves as the sport's governing body and is responsible for controlling the laws of the game.
