Jake Newton (ice Hockey)
Jake Newton (born September 22, 1988) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman. He is currently playing for Storhamar in the Norwegian GET-ligaen. Playing career Upon completing his freshman year in 2009–10 with Northeastern University and selected to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team, Newton was signed as an undrafted free-agent to a three-year entry-level contract with the Anaheim Ducks on March 17, 2010. He was traded to the Colorado Avalanche from the Anaheim Ducks along with a conditional draft pick for defenseman Kyle Cumiskey on October 8, 2011. He was then immediately assigned to AHL affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters before finishing the 2011–12 season with the Avalanche's secondary affiliate, the Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League. Storhamar Hockey, often referred to by its Acronym and initialism, initials SIL, is a Norway, Norwegian ice hockey team based in Hamar, Norway. The club currently plays in the EliteHockey Ligaen, the highest level of Norwegian hockey. The club has won eight regular season titles and seven national championships since its founding on 18 March 1957. Storhamar play their home games in the CC Amfi. The club also includes the largest junior department in Norwegian ice hockey. The team colours are yellow and blue. Hockey East
The Hockey East Association, also known as Hockey East, is a college ice hockey conference which operates entirely in New England. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a hockey-only conference. Hockey East came into existence in 1984 for men's hockey when most of its current members split from what is today known as ECAC Hockey, after disagreements with the Ivy League members. The women's league began play in 2002. Idaho Steelheads
The Idaho Steelheads are an American professional minor league ice hockey team based in Boise, Idaho, and a member of the ECHL. The Steelheads play in the Mountain Division of the ECHL's Western Conference since the 2016–17 season. In 1996, the Steelheads were announced as a 1997–98 expansion team by Diamond Sports Management, headed by Cord Pereira, as a member of the West Coast Hockey League (WCHL). The Steelheads and the rest of the WCHL joined the ECHL in 2003. As of the 2022-23 season, the Steelheads are the westernmost ECHL team. The Ontario Reign were a professional ice hockey team from Ontario, California that played in the ECHL. Their home arena was the then Citizens Business Bank Arena.
