Jake Lynch (artist)
Jake Lynch (born 1965) is a journalist, academic, novelist and poet, and a scholarly authority within the fields of peace journalism and peace research. He is an academic with the University of SydneyMind Over Murder his detective story set in contemporary Oxford and co-authored with Annabel McGoldrick, is published by Next Chapter. His debut novel, ''Blood on the Stone'', an historical mystery thriller set in Oxford in 1681, was published by Unbound Books. Education Lynch attended Cardiff University, where he completed a BA degree in English (First Class Honours) in 1988 and a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism Studies (Distinction) with Cardiff University in 1989. Peace journalism is a style and theory of reporting that aims to treat stories about war and conflict with balance, in contrast to war journalism, which peace journalism advocates say display a bias toward violence. The theory proposes practical methods for correcting biases in stories appearing in the mainstream and alternative media, and suggests ways for journalists to work with other media professionals, audiences, and organizations in conflict.
