Jake Cohen
Jacob Greer Cohen (ג'ייק כהן; born September 25, 1990) is an American-Israeli 6' 10 " (2.10 m ) tall professional basketball player for Maccabi Tel Aviv of the Israeli Basketball Premier League and the EuroLeague. He also represents the Israeli national team in international competitions. Cohen played college basketball at Davidson College, with the Davidson Wildcats, from 2009 through 2013. He was a two-time Southern Conference Player of the Year, as both a junior and senior. He finished his college career in the top 10 all-time in the conference in career defensive rebounds, offensive rebounds, free throw percentage, free throws, and blocks. Haverford College
Haverford College ( ) is a private liberal arts college in Haverford, Pennsylvania. Block (basketball)
In basketball, a block or blocked shot occurs when a defensive player legally deflects a field goal attempt from an offensive player to prevent a score. The defender is not allowed to make contact with the offensive player's hand (unless the defender is also in contact with the ball) or a '' foul'' is called. In order to be legal, the block must occur while the shot is traveling upward or at its apex. A deflected field goal that is made does not count as a blocked shot and simply counts as a successful field goal attempt for shooter plus the points awarded to the shooting team. For the shooter, a blocked shot is counted as a missed field goal attempt. Free Throw
In basketball, free throws or foul shots are unopposed attempts to score points by shooting from behind the free-throw line (informally known as the foul line or the charity stripe), a line situated at the end of the restricted area. Israeli National Basketball Team
The Israel men's national basketball team ( he, נבחרת ישראל בכדורסל) represents Israel in international basketball tournaments. They are administered by the Israeli Basketball Association. Israel is currently ranked 33rd in the FIBA World Rankings. Israel has qualified for the EuroBasket 30 times throughout their history.
