Jake Carder
Jake Michael Carder (born 11 December 1995) is an Australian cricketer. He made his first-class cricket, first-class debut for Cricket Australia XI against the West Indies cricket team, West Indians during their West Indian cricket team in Australia in 2015–16, tour of Australia in December 2015. He made his List A cricket, List A debut for Cricket Australia XI in the 2016–17 Matador BBQs One-Day Cup on 1 October 2016. Domestic career Carder was in the Cricket Australia XI squad for the 2017–18 JLT One-Day Cup. Batting second against South Australia cricket team, South Australia, he scored his maiden List A century. He scored 102 and combined with Beau Webster for a 229-run partnership, the fourth-highest second-wicket partnership in Australia's domestic one-day history. 2017–18 JLT One-Day Cup
The 2017 JLT One-Day Cup was the 48th season of the official List A domestic cricket competition in Australia. It was played over a four-week period at the start of the domestic season to separate its schedule from the Sheffield Shield season. The tournament was held in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Hobart, with all 23 matches to be broadcast live on the Cricket Australia website and app. It was the first time in more than a decade that neither the Nine Network nor Fox Sports (Australia) have hosted a television broadcast of the tournament. The tournament was sponsored by Jardine Lloyd Thompson. New South Wales were the defending champions. They were eliminated from the tournament after losing their final group fixture to Victoria, when the match was abandoned due to an unsafe pitch. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field, at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails (small sticks) balanced on three stumps. Two players from the batting team, the striker and nonstriker, stand in front of either wicket holding bats, while one player from the fielding team, the bowler, bowls the ball toward the striker's wicket from the opposite end of the pitch. The striker's goal is to hit the bowled ball with the bat and then switch places with the nonstriker, with the batting team scoring one run for each of these swaps.
