Jakara Anthony
Jakara Anthony, (born 8 July 1998) is an Australian Freestyle skiing, freestyle skier and Olympic gold medalist. She competed in the 2018 Winter Olympics, finishing 4th, the best-ever result for an Australian female mogul skier. Anthony won the Women's Moguls event at the 2022 Winter Olympics. At the 2019 World Ski Championships she finished 2nd. She is currently studying for a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science at Deakin University. Anthony was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the 2022 Queen's Birthday Honours (Australia), 2022 Queen's Birthday Honours for service to sport as a gold medallist at the Beijing Winter Olympic Games 2022. Cairns
Cairns (, ) is a city in Queensland, Australia, on the tropical north east coast of Far North Queensland. The population in June 2019 was 153,952, having grown on average 1.02% annually over the preceding five years. The city is the 5th-most-populous in Queensland, and 15th in Australia. The city was founded in 1876 and named after Sir William Wellington Cairns, following the discovery of gold in the Hodgkinson river. Throughout the late 19th century, Cairns prospered from the settlement of Chinese immigrants who helped develop the region's agriculture. Cairns also served as a port for blackbirding ships, bringing slaves and indentured labourers to the sugar plantations of Innisfail. During World War II, the city became a staging ground for the Allied Forces in the Battle of the Coral Sea. Freestyle Skiing At The 2022 Winter Olympics
Freestyle skiing at the 2022 Winter Olympics were held at the Genting Snow Park in Zhangjiakou and Big Air Shougang in Beijing, China. The events were held between 3 and 19 February 2022. A total of 13 freestyle skiing events were held. In July 2018, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) officially added three events to the Olympic program: big air for men and women, along with a mixed team aerials event. A total of 284 quota spots (142 per gender) were distributed to the sport, a decline of 4 from the 2018 Winter Olympics. A total of 13 events were contested, six for men, six for women and one mixed. Qualification A maximum of 284 quota spots are available to athletes at the games. A maximum of 30 athletes could be entered by a National Olympic Committee, with a maximum of 16 men or 16 women.
