Jagat Jakhar
Jagat Singh Jakhar (born 6 October 1956) was a Haryanvi film actor. He appeared in a dozen Haryanvi films until his death in 2011. He was the main lead of the largest grossing Haryanvi film, '' Chandrawal'' (1984). Early life He was born in a village of Sundreti in the Jhajjar district of the state Haryana in 1956. His father Surat Singh Jakhar was a farmer. He spent the early years of his life in his village then went to Rohtak to complete his graduation before going to Haryana Agricultural University for higher studies to graduate as a veterinary surgeon. Career Jakhar appeared in around a dozen films during his career. He had most success in the film ''Chandrawal'' where he played a doomed lover. The film went on to break many box office records. Shortly before his death he was filming a television serial called ''Sapne''. Death Jagat Jakhar died in the PGI hospital of Chandigarh at the age of 55 on 17 December 2011 due to a liver infection. Jhajjar District
Jhajjar district is one of the 22 districts of Haryana state in northern India. Carved out of Rohtak district on 15 July 1997 and with its headquarters in Jhajjar, it lies from Delhi and had developed into an important industrial center. ''Chandrawal'' is a 1984 Haryanvi film. It is the third Haryanavi-language film to be released and the first financially successful one. Written by Late. Shri Devi Shankar Prabhakar, produced by Usha Sharma and directed by Jayant Prabhaker, the film's music was arranged by J. P. Kaushik. Starring dancer Usha Sharma, the film tells the story of a tragic love affair between Chandrawal, a girl of the Gadia Lohar Rajput community, and Suraj, a haryanavi Jat Boy. Haryanvi films are films in the Haryanvi language, Haryanvi dialect of Hindi. Due to the dominance of the Mumbai-based Bollywood, Hindi film industry, films in Haryanvi were not extensively produced until the 1980s. The First movie of Haryanvi cinema is ''Dharti'', released in 1968. The financial success of Devi Shankar Prabhakar's ''Chandrawal'' (1984) was largely responsible for the continuing production of Haryanvi Cinema, Haryanvi films, although none have been as successful. Rohtak () is a city and the administrative headquarters of the Rohtak district in the Indian state of Haryana. Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University is a public funded agricultural university located at Hisar in the Indian state of Haryana. It is the biggest agricultural university in Asia.
