Jacques Dumoulin
Jacques Dumoulin (February 12, 1898 – February 20, 1988) was a Canadians, Canadian provincial politician and judge. Born in Quebec City, Quebec, the son of Philippe-Benjamin Dumoulin and Marie-Louise Taschereau, Dumoulin was the member of the Legislative Assembly of Quebec for Montmorency (provincial electoral district), Montmorency from 1939 to 1948. He was later a judge of the Exchequer Court of Canada from 1955 to 1970 and of the Appeal Division of the Federal Court of Canada from 1970 until 1972. Legislative Assembly Of Quebec
The Legislative Assembly of Quebec (French: ''Assemblée législative du Québec'') was the name of the lower house of Quebec's legislature from 1867 to December 31, 1968, when it was renamed the National Assembly of Quebec. At the same time, the upper house of the legislature, the Legislative Council, was abolished. Both were initially created by the Constitution Act, 1867. It was the Union Nationale government of Premier Jean-Jacques Bertrand that passed the "Bill 90" legislation to abolish the upper house, but earlier attempts had been made by earlier governments. The presiding officer of the Assembly was known in French as ''orateur'', a literal translation of the English term, '' speaker''. When the Assembly was renamed so too was the title of its presiding officer, becoming known as the President. Today, Quebec has a unicameral legislature, whose single house is the National Assembly. The Federal Court of Canada, which succeeded the Exchequer Court of Canada in 1971, was a national court of Canada that had limited jurisdiction to hear certain types of disputes arising under the federal government's legislative jurisdiction. Originally composed of two divisions, the Appellate Division and the Trial Division, in 2003 the Court was split into two separate Courts, the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal. The jurisdiction and powers of the two courts remained largely unchanged from the predecessor divisions. The were a prominent family from the region of Touraine in France, who then settled in Beauce, Quebec in the 1720s. In the civil service of the United Kingdom, His Majesty’s Exchequer, or just the Exchequer, is the accounting process of central government and the government's ''current account'' (i.e., money held from taxation and other government revenues) in the Consolidated Fund. It can be found used in various financial documents including the latest departmental and agency annual accounts. It was the name of a British government department responsible for the collection and the management of taxes and revenues; of making payments on behalf of the sovereign and auditing official accounts. It also developed a judicial role along with its accountancy responsibilities and tried legal cases relating to revenue. Montmorency (provincial Electoral District)
Montmorency is a provincial electoral district in the Capitale-Nationale region of Quebec, Canada. It comprises part of the Beauport borough of Quebec City and the municipality of Sainte-Brigitte-de-Laval. It was created for the 1867 election (and an electoral district of that name existed earlier in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada and the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada). In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, it lost much of its territory to the new electoral district of Charlevoix–Côte-de-Beaupré.
