Jacques Coune
Jacques Coune (1924-2012) was a Belgian coach builder who designed and built a variety of specials via his company ''Carrosserie Jacques Coune'', and was a co-founder of the Ecurie Nationale Belge F1 team. Early and racing career Coune was born in 1924 to a motoring family. During the Second World War, Coune served as an army officer. In the early 1950s Coune, along with his father, ran a business which supplied car spare parts and assembled passenger cars from the French brand Panhard for the Belgian market on behalf of Paul Sterckx S.A. In the mid-1950s he opened a car workshop on Avenue de la Couronne in Brussels. In addition to standard production vehicles, he also looked after exclusive sports cars from Jaguar, Aston Martin and other high-priced brands as well as becoming the first Abarth dealer outside of Italy. The W110 is a line of mid-size primarily inline four-cylinder executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz between 1961 and 1968. The company's basic line of for much of the 1960s, it was part of Mercedes' unified platform of "Fintail" () models – first introduced as a six-cylinder Mercedes W111 in 1959. The 190c and 190Dc sedans debuted in April 1961, replacing the W120 180c/180Dc and W121 190b/190Db. The gasoline-powered 190c was fitted with the 1.9 L M121, an upgrade from the 1.8 L M136, and the 190Dc the 2.0 L OM621 diesel, an upgrade from the obsoleted 1.8 L OM636. Targa Top
Targa top, or targa for short, is a semi-convertible car body style with a removable roof section and a full-width roll bar behind the seats. The term was first used on the 1966 Porsche 911 Targa, and it remains a registered trademark of Porsche AG. The rear window is normally fixed, but on some targa models, it is a removable plastic foldable window, making it a convertible-type vehicle. Any piece of normally fixed metal or trim, which rises up from one side, over the roof, and down the other side, is sometimes called a targa band, targa bar, or wrap-over band. Targa tops are different from " T-tops", which have a solid, nonremovable bar running between the top of the windscreen and the rear roll bar, and generally have two separate roof panels above the seats that fit between the window and central T-bar. BMW 700
The BMW 700 is a small rear-engined car which was produced by BMW in various models from August 1959 to November 1965. It was the first BMW automobile with a monocoque structure. The 700 was a sales success at a time when BMW was close to financial ruin. The 700 was also successful in its class in motorsport, both in its stock form and as the basis of a racing special called the 700RS. More than 188,000 were sold before production ended in November 1965. Upon discontinuing the 700, BMW left the economy car market. Sir Alexander Arnold Constantine Issigonis ( Greek: Αλέξανδρος Άρνολντ Κωνσταντίνος Ισηγόνης) (18 November 1906 – 2 October 1988) was a British-Greek automotive designer. He designed the Mini, launched by the British Motor Corporation in 1959, and voted the second most influential car of the 20th century in 1999. Early life and education Issigonis was born on 18 November 1906 in the Ottoman port city of Smyrna, the only child of Constantine Issigonis and Hulda Prokopp. His paternal grandfather, Demosthenis, had migrated to Smyrna from the Greek island of Paros in the 1830s and Constantine was a successful and wealthy shipbuilding engineer.
