Jacob Khawe
Jacob Khawe is a South African politician who was the Provincial Secretary of the African National Congress (ANC) in Gauteng from 2018 to 2022. He was formerly the Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipality from 2017 to 2018 and before that he represented the ANC in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature. Political career Khawe is a member of the African National Congress (ANC); his local party branch is in Vanderbijlpark in Gauteng. By 2010, he was the Provincial Chairperson of the ANC Youth League's Gauteng branch. In that year, the provincial league nominated him to stand for election as Deputy Provincial Secretary of the mainstream ANC in Gauteng, but the position went to Humphrey Mmemezi instead. The Emfuleni Local Municipality, founded in 1999, is one of three local municipalities comprising the Sedibeng District in Gauteng, South Africa. It is the westernmost local municipality in the District, and covers an area of 987 km² at the heart of the Vaal Triangle. It is located in the former industrial heartland of Gauteng which created employment and wealth for Sebokeng, Vanderbijlpark, Vereeniging and Sharpeville. Andrek "Panyaza" Lesufi (born 4 September 1968) is a South African politician who was appointed the seventh Premier of Gauteng in October 2022. He was previously Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Education in the Gauteng provincial government between May 2014 and October 2022, with the exception of a two-day stint as MEC for Finance in May 2019.
