Jacob Ben-Ami
Jacob Ben-Ami (; November 23 or December 23, 1890, Minsk, Russian Empire – July 2, 1977, New York City, New York (state), New York, United States) was a noted Belarusian-born Jewish stage actor who performed equally well in Yiddish and English. Biography Ben-Ami was born in 1890 and grew up in Russia, performing in various acting troupes, before emigrating to the United States in 1912. He had a long and distinguished international career, including acting in, staging and directing a number of Broadway theatre, Broadway plays. In 1918, he founded or co-founded the Jewish Art Theatre. Ben-Ami's first English-language production was the 1920 Broadway play ''Samson and Delilah''. According to biographer Alan Gansberg in ''Little Caesar: A Biography of Edward G. Robinson'', Ben-Ami earned fellow cast member Edward G. Jacob Ben-Ami - Feb 1923 Shadowland
Jacob, later known as Israel, is a Patriarchs (Bible), Hebrew patriarch of the Abrahamic religions. He first appears in the Torah, where he is described in the Book of Genesis as a son of Isaac and Rebecca. Accordingly, alongside his older fraternal twin brother Esau, Jacob's paternal grandparents are Abraham and Sarah and his maternal grandfather is Bethuel, whose wife is not mentioned. He is said to have bought Esau's birthright and, with his mother's help, deceived his aging father to bless him instead of Esau. Doris Keane
Doris Keane (December 12, 1881 – November 25, 1945) was an American actress, primarily in live theatre. Early life and family Keane was born in Michigan to Joseph Keane and Florence Winter. She was educated privately in Chicago, New York, Paris, and Rome and at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Career Her first professional role was in ''Whitewashing Julia'' in 1903. This was a small role, but she went on to play leading roles in ''The Happy Marriage'' in 1909 and ''The Lights o' London'' in 1911. ''The Wandering Jew'' is a 1933 British fantasy film, fantasy drama film produced for the Gaumont Film Company, Gaumont-Twickenham Film Studios and directed by Maurice Elvey. It recounts the tale of a Jew (played by Conrad Veidt) who is forced to wander the Earth for centuries because he rebuffed Jesus while he was carrying his cross.
