Tikøb is a small town and parish located 8 km west of Helsingør and six km north of Fredensborg, between Lake Esrum to the southwest and Gurre Lake to the east. in Helsingør Municipality, some 40 km north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The 12 foot dinghy, 12' Dinghy was a sailing event on the Sailing at the 1928 Summer Olympics program in Amsterdam. A combination of Preliminary series and final series were scheduled. 23 sailors from 20 nations competed on twelve 12' Dinghies that were supplied by the Koninklijk Nederlands Watersport Verbond, Royal Dutch Yachting Union ''(Koninklijke Verbonden Nederlandsche Watersport Vereenigingen)''.
