Jack Nusan Porter
Jack Nusan Porter is an American writer, sociologist, human rights and social activist, and former treasurer and vice-president of the International Association of Genocide Scholars. He is a former assistant professor of social science at Boston University and a former research associate at Harvard's Ukrainian Research Institute. He is a research associate at the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard University, doing research on Israeli-Russian relations, especially the life of Golda Meir, as well as doing work on mathematical and statistical models to predict genocide and terrorism and modes of resistance to genocide. His most recent books are ''Is Sociology Dead?'', ''Social Theory and Social Praxis in a Post-Modern Age'', ''The Genocidal Mind'', ''The Jew as Outsider'', and ''Confronting History and Holocaust''. Jack Porter (born 15 July 2008) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Arsenal. Early life Porter attended Leventhorpe School and Saint Nicholas School in Old Harlow. Club career Porter joined Arsenal in 2020 and formally signed scholarship terms at the club in July 2024. Porter was promoted to be Arsenal’s third choice goalkeeper in September 2024 after an injury to Tommy Setford. He was an unused substitute against Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League in September 2024, and traveled with the first team squad for their next match, in the Premier League against Manchester City. Homa Jackson Porter, usually known as H. J. Porter or Jack Porter (February 21, 1896 – December 7, 1986) was a Texas businessman and political activist. A key figure in building a competitive Republican Party in his home state after a century of Democratic dominance, Porter was best known as Lyndon Johnson's general election opponent in the 1948 contest for a seat in the United States Senate. Early life Homa J. Porter was born in Annetta, Texas on February 21, 1896, the last of seven children born to James Ewing Porter and Isabella Lavonia (Turner) Porter. He was raised on his family's cotton and corn farm and in Weatherford, Texas. ''Revenge'' is an American drama television series created by Mike Kelley and starring Madeleine Stowe and Emily VanCamp, which debuted on September 21, 2011, on ABC. The plot is inspired by Alexandre Dumas' 1844 novel ''The Count of Monte Cristo''. During its first season, it aired on Wednesdays at 10:00 pm ( Eastern), and later aired on Sundays at 9:00 pm for seasons two through four. The series was picked up for a full season by the ABC television network after garnering a 3.3 Nielsen rating in the 18–49 age advertising demographic for its pilot episode, and regularly winning its time slot against every other television network (CBS, Fox, The CW, and NBC) in the 18–34 demo. ''Watch Over Me'' is an American television series that debuted on December 6, 2006 on MyNetworkTV. Twentieth Television produced 66 episodes to air weekdays. The limited-run serial is an adaptation of Argentine series '' Resistiré''. Dayanara Torres, a former Miss Universe, played a woman torn between her bioterrorist fiancé (Marc Menard) and her bodyguard, played by Todd Cahoon. Catherine Oxenberg and Casper Van Dien also appeared as villains. Telefe, which produced the original version, syndicates a 64-episode run of the series in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. It promotes the show as mixing a classic Latin genre with Hollywood aesthetics. From July 2009, it was aired in Slovakia on TV Markíza taking the slot of Latin American telenovelas, but the show was not very successful. It is currently available for streaming on TubiTV.
