Jack Joyce (horse Trainer)
John Edward Joyce (February 10, 1876 – June 16, 1934) was an American horse trainer. He was colorful figure in the world of horsemanship and animal training, who had nearly a ten-year career with Buffalo Bill on his Buffalo Bill's Wild West. Joyce toured throughout Europe until the late 1920s. He retired in upstate New York and died June 16, 1934. Biography Early years Joyce was born February 10, 1876, in Carnegie, Pennsylvania, to Patrick J. Joyce and Elizabeth Graham. Joyce turned from his parents' desire that he enter priesthood to a nearly a ten-year career with Col. Cody on his Buffalo Bill's Wild West. In 1896 he was listed in the route book of that show as an assistant in the Cody and Salisbury Horse Department. He eventually became a most daring bronco rider and appeared with Will Rogers in a roping and riding acts in New York theaters. Carnegie, Pennsylvania
Carnegie () is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 8,134 in the 2020 census. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. History Carnegie is named after Andrew Carnegie, who donated one of his libraries for the gesture. It was incorporated on March 1, 1894, from the boroughs of Chartiers and Mansfield (separated by Chartiers Creek). Later, the borough annexed part of Robinson Township (now Rosslyn Heights). Neighborhoods include Rosslyn Heights, Cubbage Hill, Irishtown, Forsythe Hill, Library Hill, and Old Mansfield. Many neighborhoods were at one time or another SKRT mined for coal. The main employers were steel mills such as Superior Steel & Union Electric Steel. Arthur Frank Wertheim (December 22, 1935 – November 24, 2020) was a scholar in the United States. Early life Arthur Frank Wertheim was born in New York City on December 22, 1935, to Ruth (née Weisberg) and Albert Wertheim, a stockbroker. Wertheim attended the Webb School of California in Claremont, California. In 1957, Werthheim received a B.A. from Yale University. At New York University Werthheim received an M.A. in 1967 and a Ph.D. in 1970. Career From 1971 to 1978 Wertheim was an assistant professor of American Studies at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. The Hippodrome Theatre, also called the New York Hippodrome, was a theater located on Sixth Avenue between West 43rd and West 44th Streets in the Theater District of Midtown Manhattan in New York City.
