Edwin Horace "Jack" Ellis is a New Zealand rugby player who played in the rugby league and represented New Zealand. Playing career Ellis played in the Canterbury Rugby League competition and represented Canterbury in 1924. He played in six matches for New Zealand during the 1925 tour of Australia. No test matches were played during the tour. Masterton ( mi, Whakaoriori), a large town in the Greater Wellington Region of New Zealand, operates as the seat of the Masterton District (a territorial authority or local-government district). The New Zealand national rugby league team ( Māori: Tīma rīki motu Aotearoa) has represented New Zealand in rugby league since 1907. Administered by the New Zealand Rugby League, they are commonly known as the Kiwis, after the native bird of that name. Canterbury Rugby League is the regional body that administers rugby league in Canterbury, New Zealand. CRL manages local competitions from senior level down to age group competitions.
