Jack Biddle (politician)
Jack Biddle III (February 7, 1930 – February 18, 2024) was an American politician who served in the Alabama Legislature for 32 years, in the Alabama House of Representatives from 1974 to 1994, and the Alabama Senate from 1994 to 2006. Biddle was the first and only person to be elected to the Alabama state legislature as a Democratic, Republican, and independent representative at different points in his tenure. Early life Jack Biddle III was born on February 7, 1930, in Birmingham, Alabama. After graduating with a bachelor's degree from Howard College, Biddle worked as a real estate broker, as well as assistant to the CEO of Drummond Company, a coal mining corporation. Counterintelligence Corps
The Counter Intelligence Corps (Army CIC) was a World War II and early Cold War intelligence agency within the United States Army consisting of highly trained special agents. Its role was taken over by the U.S. Army Intelligence Corps in 1961 and, in 1967, by the United States Army Intelligence Agency. Its functions are now performed by its modern-day descendant organization, United States Army Counterintelligence. The National Counter Intelligence Corps Association (NCICA), a veterans' association, was established in the years immediately following World War II by former military intelligence agents. Fob James
Forrest Hood "Fob" James Jr. (born September 15, 1934) is an American politician, civil engineer, entrepreneur, and former football player. He served as the 48th governor of Alabama, first as a Democrat from 1979–1983, and then as a Republican from 1995 to 1999. Education, football, and early career James was born in Lanett, Alabama, the son of Rebecca (née Ellington) James (1907 - 1999) and Forrest Hood James (1905 - 1973). Named after his father, James was nicknamed "Fob" as a boy. His maternal grandparents were Calvin Sidney Ellington (1871 - 1958) and Sue Reese Robertson (1872 - 1959). They married in 1904. Alabama Republican Party
The Alabama Republican Party is the state affiliate of the Republican Party in Alabama. It has been the dominant political party in Alabama since the late 20th century. The state party is governed by the Alabama Republican Executive Committee. The committee usually meets twice a year. As of the February 23, 2019 meeting in Birmingham, the committee is composed of 463 members. Most of the committee's members are elected in district elections across Alabama. The district members are elected in the Republican Primary once every four years, with the most recent election for the committee having been on June 5, 2018. Frank Hampton McFadden (November 20, 1925 – December 28, 2020) was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama and later an attorney in private practice. George Wallace
