Jack Beaman
M. W. (Jack) Beaman (February 18, 1924 – January 9, 1998), was an American politician from the state of Iowa. Beaman was born February 18, 1924, in Hopeville, Clarke County, Iowa, to William and Mary Beaman. He graduated from Murray High School in 1942. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He served as a Republican in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1987 to 1995. Beaman died January 9, 1998, in Des Moines. James Randell Hughes (born April 3, 1953) is a former American football safety who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at the University of Oklahoma and was drafted in the fourth round of the 1975 NFL draft. Early life Hughes attended Tulsa Memorial High School. He was a defensive back and wore lucky #13 jersey. As a senior, he was chosen by the Tulsa World newspaper as the Prep Player of the Year, becoming the first defensive back to ever win the award. College career Hughes accepted a football scholarship from the University of Oklahoma. He was a safety and wore jersey #19. Richard D. Arnold (born February 9, 1945) is an Iowa State Representative from the 72nd District. He was first elected to the Iowa House of Representatives in 1994. Early life and education Arnold was raised in Russell, Iowa. He obtained his degree in Animal Science from Iowa State University. Career Politics Arnold has served on several committees in the Iowa House - the Local Government committee; the Natural Resources committee; and the Transportation committee. Osceola is a city in Clarke County, Iowa, United States. The population was 5,160 at the time of the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Clarke County. History Osceola was named after a Seminole Indian leader of the same name. Osceola is an anglicised form of ''Asiyahola'': ''assi'', from a ceremonial yaupon holly tea or "black drink" and ''yaholi'', the name of a Creek god intoned when the drink was served. The Masonic Building stands on the public square in Osceola.
