Jack (2013 Film)
''Jack'' is a Canadian television film, which debuted on CBC Television on March 10, 2013. A biopic of the late Jack Layton, the film stars Rick Roberts as Layton and Sook-Yin Lee as Olivia Chow. The film was originally announced in 2012 as ''Smilin' Jack: The Jack Layton Story''. The film was directed by Jeff Woolnough, and written by Shelley Eriksen and Andrew Wreggitt. The Parachute Club's 1983 hit single " Rise Up" is the opening theme music. Andrew Wreggitt (born 1955) is a Canadian television writer and producer from Calgary, Alberta.Ken McGoogan, "Wreggitt keeps poetic fire burning". ''Calgary Herald'', February 21, 1998. Karl Bélanger
Karl Bélanger (born 1975) is a former political operative. He was the interim National Director of the New Democratic Party (NDP) of Canada from January 23, 2016 to September 12, 2016. He was principal secretary to NDP Leader Tom Mulcair during his tenure as Leader of the Official Opposition. Bélanger was a member of NDP Leader Jack Layton's team, serving as senior press secretary. He also was his principal secretary for Quebec in spring 2009, ahead of the Quebec Orange Crush. He remained senior press secretary under the interim leadership of Nycole Turmel. Brian Topp (born July 4, 1960) is a Canadian political strategist, union leader, and writer and was chief of staff to then Alberta Premier Rachel Notley.
