Jacek Olczak
Jacek Olczak (born 23 January 1965) is a Polish businessman and the chief executive officer (CEO) of Philip Morris International, the largest publicly traded tobacco company in the world. He is the first Pole to take the chair of a global company. Early life He earned a graduate degree in economics from the University of Łódź in Poland. Career Olczak began his career at BDO in London and Warsaw. In 1993, he joined the finance department of the Polish branch of the Philip Morris group, then in 1995 he joined the internal controls team in Lausanne, Switzerland. In 1996, he became the director of sales for Philip Morris Polska, then took up the same role at the Romanian branch of the company from 1999. Łódź
Łódź is a city in central Poland and a former industrial centre. It is the capital of Łódź Voivodeship, and is located south-west of Warsaw. Łódź has a population of 655,279, making it the country's List of cities and towns in Poland, fourth largest city. Łódź first appears in records in the 14th century. Baltic States
The Baltic states or the Baltic countries is a geopolitical term encompassing Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. All three countries are members of NATO, the European Union, the Eurozone, and the OECD. André Calantzopoulos
André Calantzopoulos (born 1957) is a Greek businessman. He is executive chairman of tobacco giant Philip Morris International (PMI), having previously been CEO. He worked as a design engineer in the automotive industry before joining PMI at 28 years old. Early life He was born and raised in Pyrgos, Greece. At 18, he moved to Lausanne, Switzerland, to further his education at EPFL. Education Calantzopoulos studied Electrical Engineering at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology), Lausanne. He then went to work in robotics, in the electronics field.
