Jabolci
Jabolci (, ) is a village in the municipality of Sopište, North Macedonia. Demographics In statistics gathered by Vasil Kanchov in 1900, the village was inhabited by 180 Muslim Albanians and 130 Bulgarian Exarchists. On the 1927 ethnic map of Leonhard Schulze-Jena, Držilovo is shown as an Albanian village. According to the 2002 census, the village had a total of 41 inhabitants. Sopište (, ) is a municipality in the northern part of North Macedonia. ''Sopište'' is also the name of the village where the municipal seat is found. It is located in the Skopje Statistical Region. 2021 North Macedonia Census
The 2021 North Macedonia census, officially known as the Census of Population, Households and Dwellings, 2021, was the third census held in North Macedonia since independence, and the first since 2002. The census recorded a resident population of 1,836,713, a decrease of 9.2 percent, or 185,834, over the preceding 19 years. The census was taken during the COVID-19 pandemic, which affected its administration. It was also considered controversial by some Macedonian groups; the opposition party The Left openly led a boycott. 132,260 individuals (7.2% of the population) did not participate in the census and are officially labelled as "persons for whom data are taken from administrative sources"; no ethnic, language, or religious information is available for these individuals. Leonhard Schultze-Jena
Leonhard Sigmund Friedrich Kuno Klaus Schultze-Jena (May 28, 1872, in Jena – March 28, 1955, in Marburg) was a German explorer, zoologist, and anthropologist known for his explorations of German Southwest Africa and New Guinea, as well as for his studies on Mesoamerican languages. During the Herero and Namaqua genocide, Schultze, a witness, took "body parts from fresh native corpses" which according to him was a "welcome addition". He also noted that he could use prisoners for that purpose. In 1912, he adopted the surname Schultze-Jena from an honorary title that was given to his father, gynecologist and obstetrician Bernhard Sigmund Schultze. Bulgarian Exarchists
Bulgarian millet () was an ethno-religious and linguistic community within the Ottoman Empire from the mid-19th to early 20th century. The semi-official term, was used by the Sultan for the first time in 1847, and was his tacit consent to a more ethno-linguistic definition of the Bulgarians as a nation. This resulted in the rise of a Bulgarian St. Stephen Church in the Ottoman capital Constantinople in 1851. Vasil Kanchov
Vasil Kanchov (26 July 1862 – 6 February 1902) was a geographer, ethnographer and teacher who served as Minister of Education of Bulgaria. Early life and education Vasil Kanchov was born in Vratsa. Upon graduating from High school in Lom, Bulgaria, and later he entered the University of Harkov, then in the Russian Empire. During the Serbo-Bulgarian War 1885 he suspended his education and took part in the war. Later, he went on to pursue studies at universities in Munich and Stuttgart, but in 1888 he interrupted his education again due to an illness.
