Jaap De Zeeuw
Jacob Cornelis de Zeeuw (19 December 1954, Numansdorp) is a sailor from the Netherlands, who represented his country at the Sailing at the 1976 Summer Olympics, 1976 Summer Olympics in Kingston, Ontario, Canada as substitute for the Dutch 470 (dinghy), 470 team of Joop van Werkhoven and Robert van Werkhoven. Sailing career De Zeeuw started in the 420 (dinghy), 420 with Bas de Koning as helmsman. In this class De Zeeuw took the Dutch Championship 1971. De Zeeuw made the stap into the 470 but did not made the selection. However De Zeeuw with his brother worked as sparrings partners for the Van Werkhoven bros. This resulted in De Zeeuw's selection for the 1976 Olympics. After the Olympics De Zeeuw took the European Championship in the Prindle 16 catamaran. Numansdorp
Numansdorp is a town and former municipality in the province South Holland in the Netherlands and is located on the island Hoeksche Waard near the Hollands Diep. On 1 January 1984, the municipalities Numansdorp and Klaaswaal were merged into one municipality called Cromstrijen. Cromstrijen was merged into the new municipality Hoeksche Waard in January 2019. History Numansdorp was founded in 1642. The village was built in the Numanspolder. It took a while till the embankment of this polder was started. The reason for the delay was a disagreement between the Lords of Cromstrijen and the owners of Zuid-Beijerland. When the founding of the village had finally taken place, it still didn't have an official name, even though the locals called it Buitensluis. In a meeting it was decided to call the village "Village of Cromstrijen" (Dorp van Cromstrijen). Rudy Den Outer
Rudy den Outer (born 22 July 1954 in Rotterdam) is a sailor from the Netherlands, who represented his country at the 2008 Vintage Yachting Games in Medemblik, as helmsman in the Dutch Soling ''Sophie's Choice''. Den Outer with crew members Leo Determan and Ronald den Arend took the Gold. In the 2012 Vintage Yachting Games, this time with crew members Gavin Lidlow and Ramzi Souli the team took the Silver medal in Bellano, Italy. In 2003 with helmsman Fred Imhoff and Richard van Rij he became European Champion in the Dragon at Kinsale, Ireland. Den Outer is also very active in the organization of major International Sailing events for Olympic and former Olympic classes. Soling Class Sailors
The Soling is an open keelboat that holds the World Sailing " International class" status. The class was used from the 1972 Olympics (Kiel) until the 2000 Olympics (Sydney) as " Open Three Person Keelboat". Besides the Olympic career of the Soling the boat is used for International and local regattas as well as for recreational sailing. The Soling is managed by the International Soling Association under auspician of World Sailing/ISAF/IYRU since 1968. The Soling is a strong boat designed for any wind and sea condition by Jan Herman Linge from Norway in 1964. The boats are one-design originating from an authorized single plug and mould system and made of fiberglass. This together with a strict set of class rules makes competition possible on a " level playing field". Yngling Class Sailors
The Ynglings were a dynasty of kings, first in Sweden and later in Norway, primarily attested through the poem ''Ynglingatal''. The dynasty also appears as Scylfings (Old Norse ''Skilfingar'') in ''Beowulf''.
