Athletic Club Port of Spain (previously known as North East Stars) is a Trinidad and Tobago professional football club, based in Port of Spain, Trinidad, that plays in the TT Pro League. The team plays its home games at the Hasely Crawford Stadium. History The team joined the Professional Football League as North East Stars beginning in the 2002 season, having previously played in Trinidad's ECFU league. The team joined the league with the explicit intention of representing the north-east of Trinidad, previously underrepresented in football circles. The team was terrible in their first season, finishing last in the league with a dismal record of 4 wins, 2 ties, and 22 losses. They improved dramatically in 2003, however, jumping from last to third, as they went 19–7–10. Ideal Sports Club is a Montserrat sports club based in Brades. Ideal SC is best known for their football team, who plays in the Montserrat Championship the highest tier of football on the island. The football club won the championship once in 2004. History Ideal was founded in Brades, Montserrat in 1975. The first record of them competing in national football was in 1996-97 Montserrat Championship, known as the Carib Football League for sponsorship reasons, under the name Ideal Boys. Only one result is recorded, a 4–3 victory over the Seventh Day Adventists Trendsetters, before the season was cancelled when the Soufrière Hills erupted causing widespread devastation to the island. Montserrat National Football Team
The Montserrat national football team represents the small Caribbean island of Montserrat in the CONCACAF football region. Football is the second most popular sport in Montserrat, after cricket. The team plays at the Blakes Estate Stadium, near the village of Look Out. The Montserrat football team was formed in 1973, and has entered the World Cup qualifiers since the 2002 edition, being eliminated in the first round on each occasion. Due to the heavy volcanic activity on the island since 1995, the team has only played a handful of matches, and most of those have been away from home. Their only victories were against neighboring Anguilla in the qualifying tournament of the 1995 Caribbean Cup, winning 3–2 at home and 1–0 away.
