J Anthony Allen
Jason Anthony Allen (born January 18, 1978) is an American composer and producer. His career has focused on electronic music and concert music. Allen’s works have been presented on national and international stages. In 2014 he was a quarter-finalist for the Grammy Foundation Music Educator Award, he founded Slam Academy in 2011, and he has been a college music educator at numerous colleges and universities. Career Allen is an American composer, producer, songwriter, engineer, and entrepreneur. He sat on the board of the American Composers Forum. He is an orchestra composer, with works for the Minnesota Orchestra as well as electronic artist, with works developed for film, TV, and radio. Most recently, he has focused on producing music for video games, and on UX (user experience) sound design. American Composers Forum
The American Composers Forum is an American organization that works for the promotion and assistance of American composers and contemporary classical music. It was founded in 1973 as the Minnesota Composers Forum and is based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. As of 2000 it was the largest composer-service organization in the country. The chief executive of the Forum is Vanessa Rose. History The Forum was founded as the Minnesota Composers Forum in 1973 by a group of University of Minnesota graduate students — including Libby Larsen and Stephen Paulus — with a $400 grant from the University’s Student Club Activities Fund. CCMIX
CCMIX (Center for the Composition of Music Iannis Xenakis, 2000), formerly Les Ateliers UPIC PIC workshops CEMAMu (Centre d'Etudes de Mathématique et Automatique Musicales, 1972), and EMAMu (Equipe de Mathématique et Automatique Musicales), was a research institute and a center for contemporary music.
