JD Motorsports was an American professional stock car racing team that competed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. It was owned and operated by Johnny Davis (NASCAR), Johnny Davis. It last fielded the No. 4 part-time for multiple drivers. The team utilized engines from Jeremy Clements Racing, Clements Racing Engines and was one of the oldest teams in the sport, having competed in the very first official NASCAR Xfinity Series race, the Daytona 300, 1983 Goody's 300. Memphis International Raceway (formerly known as Memphis Motorsports Park) was an auto racing park located near the Loosahatchie River in Shelby County, Tennessee, United States, approximately ten miles south of Millington, and a few miles north of the city of Memphis. Kertus Davis
Kertus Davis (born February 26, 1981) is an American former NASCAR driver. He was the competition director for JD Motorsports before the team went bankrupt. Prior to NASCAR/USAR Davis began racing in go-karts at the age of eight, competing in his hometown of Gaffney around various tracks. He raced in the karts for a number of years, and finished 3rd in the World Karting Association finals at the age of 17. In 1998, Davis began racing Late Model Stock Cars in various Southeastern tracks, gaining experience and a handful of top-five finishes. He mostly competed at Myrtle Beach Speedway, Greenville-Pickens Speedway, and Timmonsville Speedway. During the 1999 season, he made three starts in the USAR ProCup Series.
