Jura Docenko Futbola Skola Alberts, commonly referred to as JDFS Alberts, is a Latvian Association football, football club based in Riga, that plays in Latvian First League (1. līga), the second-highest division of Latvian football. The club was founded as a football school in 2008 modeled after the FK Alberts youth pyramid. It was named after a football coach Juris Docenko who died in January 2008. FK Daugava (2003)
FK Daugava Rīga was a Latvian football club, based at the Daugava Stadium in Riga. They played in the Latvian Higher League. The last manager of the team was Armands Zeiberliņš. From the club's foundation in 2003 till 2009 the club was known as ''FK Jūrmala'' and based in the city of Jūrmala. In 2010, they changed their name to ''FK Jūrmala-VV'', but in March 2012 the club moved to Riga, changing its name to ''FK Daugava Rīga''. Gatis Kalniņš (born 12 August 1981) is a Latvian football Striker (association football), striker, currently playing for FK Valmiera in the Latvian Higher League. Club career As a youth player Gatis Kalniņš played for his local club FK Valmiera, being taken to the first team in 2000. He played there for 2 years, playing 29 matches and scoring 10 goals. In 2002, he was signed by Skonto FC, Skonto Riga. He played there until 2008 - played 141 matches and scored 58 league goals over 7 seasons. In July 2008 he went on trial with the Championship side Burnley F.C., Burnley, but didn't stay with the team. Renārs Rode
Renārs Rode (born 6 April 1989 in Riga) is a retired Latvian professional footballer who played as a centre-back. He has also been capped by the Latvia national football team. Club career Skonto Riga As a youth player Renārs Rode played for the Skonto Riga academy. In 2008, he joined the Latvian Higher League club JFK Olimps, and played 15 matches, scoring his first league goal in a 7–0 victory over Daugava Rīga on 8 July 2009. In 2010 Rode moved to Skonto Rīga. During his first season at the club, he scored 3 goals in 16 league matches and under the manager Aleksandrs Starkovs became the champion of the Latvian Higher League. Germans Māliņš (born 12 October 1987) is a Latvian professional footballer, currently playing for JDFS Alberts. Club career Skonto Riga Born in Riga, as a youth player Māliņš played for his local club FK Auda, before moving to JFC Skonto in 2001. He spent 5 years in the academy, being taken to the club's first team in 2006 as the third choice keeper. In the beginning of 2007 he was given out on loan to Olimps in order to gain experience. During the loan spell Māliņš made his debut in the Latvian Higher League and became the club's first choice keeper. Latvian Second League
The Latvian Second League ( or ''Otrā līga''), currently known for sponsorship reasons as Altero.lv LIIGA, is the third tier of football in Latvia and is organised by the Latvian Football Federation. Competition format Regional stage There are 16 clubs in the Second League. There are 2 regions, West and East, with both divisions containing 8 teams which must play home and away games against their regional opponents. From each region, 4 teams advance to the promotion round, whereas the other 4 teams advance to the relegation round. This stage of the league is typically contested from April to August. The Latvian First League () is the second tier of football in Latvia and is organised by the Latvian Football Federation. Since 2021, its full name is Nākotnes Līga (''Future League'').
