JACKSNNZ
In international diplomacy, JACKSNNZ (pronounced “Jacksons”) is the colloquial name of an informal grouping of the world's affluent non-European Union, EU countries, excluding the United States. The JACKSNNZ states are Japan, Japan, Australia, Australia, Canada, Canada, South Korea, South Korea, Switzerland, Switzerland, Norway, Norway and New Zealand, New Zealand. The term originated in the proceedings to the Sixth Review Conference of the Biological and Toxins Weapons Convention held in Geneva in 2006. In the previous review conference talks broke down over American refusals to allow for a verification mechanism be established to monitor biological weapons programs in states parties. This was against the wishes of other WEOG (Western European and Others Group) states, which also include Canada, Turkey, Australasia and Western Europe. JUSCANZ
The JUSCANZ Group is an informal, information-sharing coalition of like-minded countries at the United Nations Human Rights Council and other United Nations bodies, such as the Second, Third Committees and UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD). In the United Nations Regional Grouping system, it is considered as a subsection of the Western European and Others Group (WEOG), as most of its members are members of that Group. Its aim is to counterbalance the sway of the European Union bloc in WEOG matters. The name of the group is derived from the acronym of its founding members Japan, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
