J.W. Hodkinson
John William Hodkinson (29 December 1942 – 9 June 2013), also known as J.W. Hodkinson or J.W. Hodgkinson, was a British rock vocalist. Hodkinson was born in Leigh, Lancashire, now in Greater Manchester, England. After performing as Johnny Goode, with Larry Parnes' "The Big New Rock 'n' Trad Spectacular", and billed as a "Teenage Idol" with Billy Raymond, Georgie Fame, Billy Fury and Jimmie Nicol, in 1961, he recorded, as Tony Allen, the first of a series of 45s for Philips, all with arrangements by Ivor Raymonde. In 1966, he sang the theme track for the United Artists spy thriller film '' Triple Cross'', starring Christopher Plummer and Yul Brynner. In 1964, he joined The Shubdubs with Jimmie Nicol, Bob Garner, Johnny Harris, Quincy Davis, and Roger Coulam. Leigh, Greater Manchester
Leigh is a town in Greater Manchester, England, on low-lying land northwest of Chat Moss. Within the boundaries of the Historic counties of England, historic county of Lancashire, Leigh was originally the centre of a large ecclesiastical parish covering six vills or townships. When the three townships of Pennington, Greater Manchester, Pennington, Westleigh, Greater Manchester, Westleigh and Bedford, Greater Manchester, Bedford merged in 1875, forming the Leigh Local Board District, Leigh became the official name for the town, although it had been applied to the area of Pennington and Westleigh around the parish church for many centuries. Rogue (band)
Rogue were a British soft rock band who were active between 1975 and 1979, comprising Guy Fletcher (songwriter), Guy Fletcher, Al Hodge (rock musician), Al Hodge and John Hodkinson. The group's original material was all written by Fletcher and his songwriting partner Doug Flett, though Flett was never a member of the band. Band history In 1975, Fletcher, former The Onyx, Onyx guitarist Hodge, and former If (band), If-vocalist Hodkinson formed the soft-rock trio Rogue which released several singles, including "Dedication", "Cool Clear Air", "Lay Me Down", "Lady Put the Light Out (song), Lady Put the Light Out", "Too Much Too Soon", "One to One", and "Borderline", as well as three albums. Their song "Fallen Angel (Rogue song), Fallen Angel" was a No. 12 hit in the Netherlands in January 1976 and narrowly missed the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, charting at No. 8 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart.
