The J.W. Burnham House is a historic house near Haynesville, Louisiana. Queen Anne Style Architecture In The United States
Queen Anne style architecture was one of a number of popular Victorian architecture, Victorian architectural styles that emerged in the United States during the period from roughly 1880 to 1910. It is sometimes grouped as New World Queen Anne Revival architecture. Popular there during this time, it followed the Second Empire architecture in the United States and Canada, Second Empire and Stick style, Stick styles and preceded the Richardsonian Romanesque and Shingle style architecture, Shingle styles. Monk House
The Monk House, in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana near Homer, Louisiana, was built in 1855. It was a home of Alabama native Merrell Monk, who moved his family to Claiborne Parish in the early 1850s. It was built by slave labor and may have been "patterned after the plans of his wife's former home in Opelika, Alabama."
