Izet Nanić
Izet Nanić (4 October 1965 – 5 August 1995) was a Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnian brigade commander in the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnian Army during the Bosnian War, Bosnian War of Independence. Family A Bosnian Muslim, Izet Nanić was born to Ibrahim Nanić (1939–2000) and Rasima (born 1945) in the town of Bužim, as second of seven children. He was married to Safija Remetić, from Varoška Rijeka. Together they had three children: a daughter and two sons. Career Nanić finished the military gymnasium in 1984, in Zagreb and then went to Belgrade after being accepted in the military academy there. After being in the military academy for two years, he went to Sarajevo for 1 year. Then he went back to Zagreb again in 1987 where he finished his military academy training. Bužim
Bužim ( sr-cyrl, Бужим) is a town and municipality located in the Una-Sana Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated in the Bosanska Krajina in the most northwestern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Geography Bužim borders Bosanska Krupa to the east, Cazin to the south, Velika Kladuša to the west and north, and the Republic of Croatia to the northeast. Geographically most of the municipality is mountainous. The total land area of Bužim is about with a population of 20,000. Bužim is about 180–400 meters above sea-level. Operation Bosanska Krajina
The 1992 ethnic cleansing of central Bosanska Krajina occurred between May and July 1992, the Bosnian Serb Army systematically ethnically cleansed the central part of the Bosanska Krajina region of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the towns of Sanski Most, Prijedor and Ključ. This incorporated some of the worst atrocities to occur during the Bosnian War. The Order of the Golden Lily (), or simply the Golden Lily (), was a military decoration of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Bosnian War. It was given to soldiers and officers who displayed exceptional courage, bravery, and strategic skill during wartime. Although initially, the Golden Lily was the highest war award, on April 14, 1994, the Presidency of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted the Decree on Decorations, which exclusively mentions the Order of the Hero of the Liberation War as the highest award. 1,742 people were awarded the Golden Lily. Operation Storm ( sh-Latn-Cyrl, Operacija Oluja, separator=" / ", Операција Олуја) was the last major battle of the Croatian War of Independence and a major factor in the outcome of the Bosnian War. It was a decisive victory for the Croatian Army (HV), which attacked across a front against the self-declared proto-state Republic of Serbian Krajina (RSK), and a strategic victory for the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ARBiH). Operation Sword–1
The Operation Sword–1 was first phase of a bigger operation called "Sword 95" during the 1995 Bosnian War and Inter-Bosnian Muslim War. The goal of Sword–1 was to make APZB double in size and to return its largest village Šturlić. And after that to be declared a republic. The goal of Sword–2 was to occupy Cazin because it was in the middle of the Bihać enclave, and that would put a lot of pressure on 5th Corps. But due to operation Storm, this phase did not start.
