Izawa Motohiko
is a Japanese writer of mystery novels and historical fiction as well as a historical researcher. He was formerly a news reporter for Tokyo Broadcasting System Television, TBS and since April 2012 has worked as a visiting professor at Shuchiin University. Career and writings Motohiko Izawa graduated from Chitose Tokyo Metropolitan High School, now Tokyo Metropolitan University, Roka Tokyo Metropolitan High School, and from the faculty of law at Waseda University. While he was in university his story ''Tōsaku no Hōfuku'' ("Retaliation for Perversion") was a candidate for the Edogawa Rampo Prize. After graduation he joined Tokyo Broadcasting System Television, TBS as a news reporter. Detective fiction is a subgenre of crime fiction and mystery fiction in which an criminal investigation, investigator or a detective—whether professional, amateur or retired—investigates a crime, often murder. The detective genre began around the same time as speculative fiction and other genre fiction in the mid-nineteenth century and has remained extremely popular, particularly in novels. Dragon Buster
is an action role-playing platform video game developed and published by Namco for arcades in 1984. It runs on Namco Pac-Land hardware, modified to support vertical scrolling. In Japan, the game was ported to the Family Computer (Famicom), MSX, and X68000; the latter version was later released for the Virtual Console in the same region on November 18, 2008. ''Dragon Buster'' has been ported for the PSP and is available as part of ''Namco Museum Battle Collection''. Tokushi Kasahara
is a Japanese historian. He is a professor emeritus at Tsuru University and his area of expertise is modern Chinese history. Life and career He was born in Gunma Prefecture and graduated from Gunma Prefectural Maebashi High School and the department of humanities at Tokyo University of Education. The is a group founded in December 1996 to promote a nationalistic view of the history of Japan. Productions and views The Japanese Society for History Textbook Reform describes their goal as combatting what it sees as masochistic depictions of Japanese history. They argue that textbooks focus too heavily on dark aspects of Japanese history, so as to make Japan solely bear responsibility for the devastation of war. The group also claims that post-war American occupation attempted to mold Japanese perceptions of history so as to prevent the country from becoming a threat to international security again. Yoshinori Kobayashi
is a Japanese manga artist known for his far-right political commentary manga ''Gōmanism Sengen''. In particular, the three volumes '' On War'' (''Sensōron'') of this series made him famous in Japan, together selling more than 1.5 million volumes since first appearing in 1998. Life A student of French literature from Fukuoka University, Kobayashi published his first manga, ''Tōdai Itchokusen'', in 1976 in ''Weekly Shōnen Jump'' while still in school. Leopold Von Ranke
Leopold von Ranke (21 December 1795 – 23 May 1886) was a German historian and a founder of modern source-based history. He was able to implement the seminar teaching method in his classroom and focused on archival research and the analysis of historical documents. Building on the methods of the Göttingen school of history, he was the first to establish a historical seminar. Ranke set the standards for much of later historical writing, introducing such ideas as reliance on primary sources (empiricism), an emphasis on narrative history and especially international politics ('' Außenpolitik'').
