Izak Rankine
Izak Rankine (born 23 April 2000) is a professional Australian rules footballer who plays for the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL), having previously been drafted to the Gold Coast Suns with pick 3 in the 2018 AFL draft. Early life Rankine was born in Adelaide into a family of Indigenous Australian descent ( Kokatha and Ngarrindjeri). He shares a relation to Australian Football Hall of Fame inductee and 1993 Brownlow Medalist Gavin Wanganeen as well as being the first cousin of former AFL player Danyle Pearce. As a child, Rankine played an array of sports which included basketball, rugby and tennis but eventually chose to focus on Australian rules football. 2018 AFL Under 18 Championships
The 2018 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships was the 23rd edition of the AFL Under-18 Championships. The tournament was played in two divisions, with the best players from across the entire Division 2 Academy series, combined into an Allies team which would then compete in the later five team Division 1 tournament. 2017 AFL Under 18 Championships
The 2017 NAB AFL Under 18 Championships was the 22nd edition of the AFL Under 18 Championships. For the previous two decades, the Under-18 Championships had been split into two divisions – with traditional football regions Vic Metro, Vic Country, Western Australia and South Australia in the top tier division one and Queensland, NSW-ACT, Tasmania and the Northern Territory in division two. However, with the growth in the strength of the northern academies, the division two carnival was changed to a five-round competition between the four academy clubs (Brisbane Lions, Gold Coast Suns, Greater Western Sydney Giants, Sydney Swans), Tasmania and the Northern Territory. Danyle Pearce (born 7 April 1986) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Port Adelaide Football Club and Fremantle Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Gavin Wanganeen
Gavin Adrian Wanganeen (born 18 June 1973) is a former Australian rules footballer and, after retirement, artist. He played for the Essendon Football Club and Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL), and also for the Port Adelaide Magpies in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). A Brownlow Medal winner and Australian Football Hall of Fame inductee, Wanganeen was appointed Port Adelaide's inaugural captain upon entry into the AFL in 1997 and is the first Indigenous Australian footballer to win the Brownlow Medal and reach the 300-game milestone at senior VFL/AFL level. Brownlow Medal
