Iver Larsen Hvamstad
Ivar Larsen Hvamstad (14 December 1843 – 5 October 1903) was a Norwegian educator and politician for the Liberal Party. He was elected to the Parliament of Norway from the constituency Christians Amt in 1879 and 1882. He served through 1885, representing the Liberal Party from its foundation in 1884. He was a teacher in Gran and farmer in Brandbu, and was the mayor of Brandbu for several years. Together with Marthe Pedersdatter Alm (1846–1928) he had the son Ivar Hvamstad Ivar Hvamstad (28 September 1878 – 9 May 1916) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. The Liberal Party ( no, Venstre, lit=Left, V; se, Gurutbellodat) is a centrist political party in Norway. It was founded in 1884 and it is the oldest political party in Norway. It is positioned in the centre on the political spectrum, and it is a liberal party which has over the time enacted reforms such as parliamentarism, freedom of religion, universal suffrage, and state schooling. For most of the late 19th and early 20th century, it was Norway's largest and dominant political party, but in the postwar era it lost most of its support and became a relatively small party. Oppland
Oppland is a former county in Norway which existed from 1781 until its dissolution on 1 January 2020. The old Oppland county bordered the counties of Trøndelag, Møre og Romsdal, Sogn og Fjordane, Buskerud, Akershus, Oslo and Hedmark. The county administration was located in the town of Lillehammer. Merger On 1 January 2020, the neighboring counties of Oppland and Hedmark were merged to form the new Innlandet county. is a municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Hadeland. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Jaren. Other villages in Gran include Bjoneroa, Brandbu, Egge, Gran, and Ringstad. The municipality is the 148th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Brandbu is a village in Gran Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village is located in Hadeland, along the eastern shore of the large lake Randsfjorden, about to the northwest of the capital city of Oslo. Ivar Hvamstad
Ivar Hvamstad (28 September 1878 – 9 May 1916) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was born at Hilden in Thingelstad, Brandbu as a son of teacher and farmer Iver Larsen Hvamstad (1843–1903) and Marthe Pedersdatter Alm (1846–1928). After finishing primary school he attended school in Gran. He was a trade clerk in Drøbak and Nes i Romerike, and started his own store in 1898. He ran a store in Hof i Solør until 1911, then in Brandval. In Hof he was a member of the municipal council from 1907 to 1910, and also the school board. He chaired the constituency branch of the Labour Party in Solør. In the 1915 parliamentary election he was fielded as Labour's candidate, and with 3,679 votes he edged out the closest challenger, Liberal Per Aasness with a wide margin.
