Ive Šubic
Ive Šubic (23 April 1922 – 29 December 1989) was a Yugoslav painting, painter, Graphic designer, graphic artists and illustrator. Šubic was born in the village of Hotovlja near Poljane nad Škofjo Loko, Poljane above Škofja Loka in 1922. He enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb, Zagreb Academy of Arts in 1940, but his studies were interrupted by the Second World War. He joined the Slovene Partisans, partisans in 1941 and participated in the Battle of Dražgoše, the monument to which he later participated in designing. After the war he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Ljubljana, Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana under Gojmir Anton Kos and Božidar Jakac. He graduated in 1948. He is known for his paintings, linocuts and other prints, illustrations and murals. He died in Škofja Loka in 1989. Hotovlja
Hotovlja (; ''Leksikon občin kraljestev in dežel zastopanih v državnem zboru,'' vol. 6: ''Kranjsko''. 1906. Vienna: C. Kr. Dvorna in Državna Tiskarna, p. 60.) is a settlement on the right bank of the Sora (river), Poljane Sora River, opposite Poljane nad Škofjo Loko, in the Municipality of Gorenja Vas–Poljane in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. Name The name of the settlement was changed from ''Hotovlje'' to ''Hotovlja'' in 1993. In the past the German name was ''Hotaule''.
