Ivan Zubkov
Ivan Ivanovych Zubkov (; 1 November 1973 – 20 January 2015) was a Ukrainian Airmobile Forces senior lieutenant and a posthumous Hero of Ukraine. He fought in the War in Donbas (2014–2022), war in Donbas as a fire support officer and was killed during the Second Battle of Donetsk Airport. Zubkov was posthumously awarded the title Hero of Ukraine and the Order of the Gold Star on 9 June 2015. Early life Zubkov was born on 1 November 1973 in Derazhnia, the son of Antonina and Ivan Zubkov. Between 1987 and 1991 he studied at the city's Secondary School No. 3. He went on to attend the Kyiv Naval Political College, Kyiv Military Naval School, graduating in 1995 and choosing to serve with Ukraine instead of Russia. Zubkov served with the 19th Rocket Division of the 43rd Rocket Army in Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine, Khmelnytskyi until he left the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 1998 and became a manager at a meat factory. Derazhnia
Derazhnia (, ; ) is a city and railway station in Khmelnytskyi Raion, Khmelnytskyi Oblast (Oblast, province) of western Ukraine. Derazhnia is situated along the banks of the Vovk River (meaning ''wolf'' in Ukrainian language, Ukrainian), 42 km east from the regional center Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine, Khmelnytskyi. 43rd Rocket Army
The 43rd Red Banner Rocket Army, known officially as the 43rd Red Banner Missile Army, was an army of the Soviet Strategic Rocket Forces. It was formed in Vinnytsia from the 43rd Air Army of Long Range Aviation. In 1991, it came under the control of the Commonwealth of Independent States while stationed in Ukraine, and was dismantled by 1996. For much of its existence, it was headquartered in the city of Vinnytsia, in the then-Ukrainian SSR. Viktor Yanukovych
Viktor Fedorovych Yanukovych (born 9 July 1950) is a Ukrainian politician who served as the fourth president of Ukraine from 2010 to 2014. He also served as the prime minister of Ukraine several times between 2002 and 2007 and was a member of the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) from 2006 to 2010. Yanukovych was removed from the presidency in the 2014 Revolution of Dignity, which followed months of protests against him. Since then, he has lived in exile in Russia.
