Ivan Snoj
Ivan Snoj (born 31 October 1923, Zagreb – 18 September 1994) was a Croatian team handball coach and international referee, international sports official, journalist and publicist. By profession he was gym teacher. Ivan Snoj was one of founders of the Croatian Handball Federation on 19 December 1948. He was the selector and coach of Croatia men's national handball team, Croatian first youth team in 1949, on a Yugoslav federal tournament of republican teams which was held in Zagreb. From 1951-1978, he had the function of ''federal captain'' (manager) of the Yugoslavia men's national handball team, Yugoslav team. He was the coach of Yugoslav team that took fifth place at the handball at the 1976 Summer Olympics, 1976 Olympics. Later he was high-positioned official of the International Handball Federation, serving as its vice-president from 1984 to 1992. Zagreb
Zagreb ( , , , ) is the capital and largest city of Croatia. It is in the northwest of the country, along the Sava river, at the southern slopes of the Medvednica mountain. The Croatia national handball team represents Croatia in international men's team handball competitions and friendly matches. The handball team is controlled by the Croatian Handball Federation (HRS). Croatia has often been portrayed as an international force in handball, having won two Olympic gold medals and one World Championship, but never winning the Euros, having lost three finals, one to rivals France, one to Denmark, and one to Spain. Croatian Olympic Committee
The Croatian Olympic Committee ( hr, Hrvatski olimpijski odbor (HOO)) is the non-profit organization representing Croatian athletes in the International Olympic Committee. The COC organizes Croatia's representatives at the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. It also organizes the Croatian contingent at smaller events such as the Mediterranean Games. Members of the committee are 44 sports federations, which elect the Executive Council composed of the president and 15 members. In 2006, the COC organized the first Croatian World Games in Zadar.
