Ivan Beavis
Ivan Beavis (22 April 1926 – 24 December 1997) was an English actor, best known for his role as Harry Hewitt, one of the original characters in the British television soap opera ''Coronation Street''. Early life and career Beavis was born in Liverpool, Lancashire, to Walter Douglas Stuart Beavis and Gladys Emily Bowling. He was one of five children, with two sisters and two brothers. The family subsequently moved to Hendon, Middlesex (now north London), where Beavis attended Christ's College, Finchley from 1937 to 1941. In 1943, at the age of 17, he enrolled in the Fleet Air Arm, where he served for three years. His father died in 1946. Following his spell in the forces, Beavis joined Price Waterhouse, in Manchester, as an audit clerk, before being transferred to Northern Ireland. Concepta Riley
Concepta Riley (also Hewitt and Regan) is a fictional character from the British television soap opera ''Coronation Street'', played by Doreen Keogh. Concepta was created by Tony Warren as one of ''Coronation Street's'' original characters. She debuted in the soap opera's fifth episode which was broadcast on 23 December 1960. Rovers Return Inn
The Rovers Return Inn is a fictional pub in the long-running British soap opera ''Coronation Street''. The Rovers Return occupies a corner of the fictional Coronation Street and Rosamund Street set location in the show. The pub was built by the fictional brewery Newton and Ridley. In the programme, the Rovers Return Inn has been a free house since 1995, although the brewery continues to supply it. The name comes from the Ye Olde Rovers Return in Withy Grove, Manchester, a 14th-century building that became a licensed public house but ceased to be so in 1924 and was demolished in 1958. Jennifer Victoria Moss (10 January 1945 – 29 September 2006) was an English actress and singer from Wigan, Lancashire. She was best known for her role as Lucille Hewitt on the long-running soap opera, ''Coronation Street'', which she played from 1960 to 1974. Early career Moss first achieved fame as a twelve-year-old as one of the child actors on the BBC's light entertainment programme ''Children's Hour''. Lucille Hewitt is a fictional character from the British soap opera ''Coronation Street'', played by Jennifer Moss. Alfie Bass (born Abraham Basalinsky, 10 April 1916 – 16 July 1987) was an English actor. He was born in Bethnal Green, London, the youngest in a Jewish family with ten children; his parents had left Russia many years before he was born. Bill Fraser
William Simpson Fraser (5 June 1908 – 9 September 1987) was a Scottish actor who appeared on stage, screen and television for many years. In 1986 he won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy Performance for his stage role in the play '' When We Are Married''. Early life Fraser was born in Perth and educated at Strathallan School. He began his career as a clerk in a bank before beginning to act. In the early days when acting work was scarce, Fraser was often penniless, frequently sleeping rough on the Embankment in London. ''The Army Game'' is a British television sitcom that aired on ITV from 19 June 1957 to 20 June 1961. It was the very first ITV sitcom and was made by Granada, and created by Sid Colin. It follows the exploits of Hut 29, a dysfunctional group of soldiers and their National Service conscription into the British Army during the post war years.
