Iva Ritschelová
Iva Ritschelová (16 July 1964 – 2 December 2017) was a Czech economist and academic who served as chair of the central state statistical administration body Czech Statistical Office (CZSO) from 2010 to 2017. She had previously worked at the CZSO at its Ústí nad Labem branch in its Department of Environmental Statistics as well as the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences and the Statistical Division of the United Nations' (UN) Food and Agriculture Organization. Ritschelová was also vice-rector and later rector of Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem. Early life On 16 July 1964, Ritschelová was born in Varnsdorf. She was brought up in Varnsdorf did her basic schooling there. Following Ritschelová's graduation from the Rumburk Grammar School, she enrolled at the Technical University of Liberec and studied Consumer Industry Economics. Candidate of Sciences (russian: кандидат наук, translit=kandidat nauk) is the first of two doctoral level scientific degrees in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. It is formally classified as UNESCO's ISCED level 8, "doctoral or equivalent". It may be recognized as Doctor of Philosophy, usually in natural sciences, by scientific institutions in other countries. Former Soviet countries also have a more advanced degree, Doctor of Sciences. North Bohemia
North Bohemia ( cs, Severní Čechy, german: Nordböhmen) is a region in the north of the Czech Republic. Location North Bohemia roughly covers the present-day NUTS regional unit of ''CZ04 Severozápad'' and the western part of ''CZ05 Severovýchod''. The European Commission (EC) is the executive of the European Union (EU). It operates as a cabinet government, with 27 members of the Commission (informally known as "Commissioners") headed by a President. It includes an administrative body of about 32,000 European civil servants. The Commission is divided into departments known as Directorates-General (DGs) that can be likened to departments or ministries each headed by a Director-General who is responsible to a Commissioner. The Czech News Agency ( cs, Česká tisková kancelář), abbreviated to ČTK, is a national public service news agency in the Czech Republic. It publishes in Czech and English. It discontinued its Slovak language service on 1 January 2011. Founded on 28 October 1918, on the same day as Czechoslovakia's formation, the company has been owned by the government and used by the various regimes in the Czech lands since then. Following the Velvet Revolution of 1989, the government ceased interfering in editorial decisions. In 1993 the government relinquished control of the agency, which has since been governed by a board of seven people elected by the lower house of Parliament. The president of the Czech Republic is the head of state of the Czech Republic and the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic.
