Itilleq Island
Egger Island (; , old spelling: ''Itivdleq'') is Greenland's southernmost island. It is located in the Kujalleq municipality and is uninhabited. Geography Egger Island is an important landmark for a small islet off Cape Farewell, its southern headland, is the southernmost point of Greenland. It is part of the Cape Farewell Archipelago (Nunap Isua). The island has a deeply indented coastline and is separated from the neighbouring islands of the archipelago by narrow sounds. Qunnerit lies to the west, Sammisoq to the north and the smaller Avatdlerssuaq and Saningassoq to the east. Egger Island has an area of 308.8 km2 and a shoreline of 150.2 kilometres. Cape Farewell lies at the island's southernmost tip, with a height of over 2000 feet; it is noted for bad weather. Landsat
The Landsat program is the longest-running enterprise for acquisition of satellite imagery of Earth. It is a joint NASA / USGS program. On 23 July 1972, the Earth Resources Technology Satellite was launched. This was eventually renamed to Landsat 1 in 1975. The most recent, Landsat 9, was launched on 27 September 2021. The instruments on the Landsat satellites have acquired millions of images. The images, archived in the United States and at Landsat receiving stations around the world, are a unique resource for global change research and applications in agriculture, cartography, geology, forestry, regional planning, surveillance and education, and can be viewed through the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) "EarthExplorer" website. Cape Farewell Archipelago (also Nunap Isua Archipelago) is an island group located at the southern end of Greenland in Kujalleq municipality. The archipelago takes its name from Cape Farewell, a headland of Egger Island (also known as Itilleq). Geography The Cape Farewell Archipelago is separated from the mainland's south coast by Prince Christian Sound in the north and by the Torsukattak Fjord in the west. Greenland is divided into five municipalities and two unincorporated areas. Kujalleq
Kujalleq (Greenlandic language, Greenlandic: , ) is a municipality on the southern tip of Greenland, operational from 1 January 2009. The administrative center of the municipality is in Qaqortoq (formerly called Julianehåb). Ikeq is an island of the Kujalleq municipality, southern Greenland. Geography The island has an area of 194 km ² and a shoreline of 89.4 kilometres. Its coast is deeply indented and its eastern part (Qunnerit) is almost separated from the main island by a narrow inlet stretching from north to south. Sammisoq (old spelling ''Sangmissoq'', ; English traditional:''Christian IV Island'') is an island in the Kujalleq municipality in southern Greenland, located northeast of Uummannarsuaq cape. It is the largest island of the Cape Farewell Archipelago (Nunap Isua). Geography Its area is and at its largest length is . It is separated from mainland Greenland to the north by the narrow Prince Christian Sound. The island has glaciers in the south and in the west. Its coast is deeply indented and its southern part is almost separated from the main island by two narrow inlets.
