Italdesign Giugiaro Gea
The Italdesign Giugiaro Gea is a full-size luxury concept car designed and produced by Italian auto design house Italdesign Giugiaro. It was introduced in 2015 at the Geneva Motor Show. Features Among many of its innovative features are headlights that change with driving mode. In normal mode they are white, but when autonomous mode is selected, they turn blue. Its 26-inch wheels are crafted out of single blocks of aluminium. Aluminium, carbon fibre and magnesium are used to keep the weight down to 2,000 kg (4,409 lb). In autonomous mode, there are three settings for passenger comfort. Business, for people who need to get work done on the go, includes the dash turning white (which studies have proven to increase productivity), a pair of 19-inch touchscreens dropping down in front of the rear seats and the front passenger seat either turning around to face those in the rear or folding down to make a table. Italdesign Giugiaro
Italdesign Giugiaro S.p.A. is a design and engineering company and brand based in Moncalieri, Italy, that traces its roots to the 1968 foundation of Studi Italiani Realizzazione Prototipi S.p.A. by Giorgetto Giugiaro and Aldo Mantovani. Best known for its automobile design work, Italdesign also offers product design, project management, styling, packaging, engineering, modeling, prototyping and testing services to manufacturers worldwide. As of 2010, Italdesign employs 800 people. A concept car (also known as a concept vehicle, show vehicle or prototype) is a car made to showcase new styling and/or new technology. They are often exhibited at motor shows to gauge customer reaction to new and radical designs which may or may not be mass-produced. Suicide Door
A suicide door is an Car door, automobile door hinged at its rear rather than the front. Such doors were originally used on Horse-drawn vehicle, horse-drawn carriages, but are rarely found on modern vehicles, primarily because they are perceived as being less safe than a front-hinged door. Being rear-hinged, if the vehicle was moving and the door opened, the driver/passenger would have to lean forward and out of the vehicle to close it. As seat belts were not in common use at that time, the risk of falling out of the car and into traffic was high, hence the name "suicide door". Geneva Motor Show
The Geneva International Motor Show is an annual auto show held in March in the Swiss city of Geneva. The show is hosted at the Palexpo, a convention centre located next to the Geneva Cointrin International Airport. The Salon is organised by the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles, and is considered an important major international auto show. First held in 1905, the Salon has hosted almost all major internal combustion engined models in the history of the automobile, along with benzene- and steam-powered cars from the beginning of the century. Magnesium
Magnesium is a chemical element with the symbol Mg and atomic number 12. It is a shiny gray metal having a low density, low melting point and high chemical reactivity. The Giugiaro Brivido is a hybrid sports car concept made by Italian design house Italdesign Giugiaro. It is not slated to go into production. Giugiaro says it is designed to give supercar-like performance while helping protect the earth. It was introduced in 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show. Features One of the Brivido's conceptual features is its side mirrors which, rather than being actual side mirrors, are cameras which connect to small displays either side of the steering wheel.
