Itala is a ''comune'' (municipality) of Messina in the Italian region Sicily. Itala borders the following municipalities: Alì, Alì Terme, Fiumedinisi, Messina, Scaletta Zanclea. Possible origin of the town name Because of similarity to the country name ( versus ), the origins of the name have been studied extensively. One theory, according to the historian Dionysius of Halicarnassus, who in turn cites Antiochus of Syracuse, posits the name "" (and presumably also "") likely derives from its mythical founder "Italus Italus or Italos (from ) was a legendary king of the Oenotrians, ancient people of Italic origin who inhabited the region now called Calabria, in southern Italy. In his ''Fabularum Liber'' (or ''Fabulae''), Gaius Julius Hyginus recorded the myth ...," son of Oenotrus (the youngest of fifty sons of Lycaon from Arcadia): Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul The Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul is located in Itala. Itala Film
Itala Film was an Italian film production company. Silent era It was founded during the silent era. In 1905, industrialists Carlo Rossi and William Remmert established a company in Turin, recruiting filmmakers from Pathé. Two years later, they were joined by Giovanni Pastrone who reorganised the company as Itala. Over the next decade, the company enjoyed enormous growth, aided by signing up Pathé's most popular comedian André Deed. Further development came with the company's production of historical epic films beginning with '' The Fall of Troy'', allowing the company to open a New York office to sell the films in the American market. This policy was crowned with the success of Pastrone's 1914 epic ''Cabiria'' set in Ancient Rome. The company continued to make epics along with literary adaptations, while Maciste, the most popular character in ''Cabiria'', appeared in further films. However, by 1918, Pastrone had lost control of Itala, and the following year the company was a ...

Vetus Latina
The ''Vetus Latina'' ("Old Latin" in Latin), also known as ''Vetus Itala'' ("Old Italian"), ''Itala'' ("Italian") and Old Italic, and denoted by the siglum \mathfrak, are the Latin Bible translations, translations of biblical texts (both Old Testament and New Testament) that preceded the Vulgate (the Latin translation produced by Jerome in the late 4th century). The ''Vetus Latina'' translations continued to be used alongside the Vulgate, but eventually the Vulgate became the standard Latin Bible used by the Catholic Church, especially after the Council of Trent (1545–1563) affirmed the Vulgate translation as authoritative for the text of Catholic Bibles. However, the ''Vetus Latina'' texts survive in some parts of the liturgy (e.g., the ''Pater Noster''). As the English translation of ''Vetus Latina'' is "Old Latin", they are also sometimes referred to as the Old Latin Bible,W. E. Plater and Henry Julian White, H. J. White, ''A Grammar of the Vulgate'', Oxford at the Clare ...

Adale
Adale (; ), also known as Cadaley, is a coastal town in the southern Middle Shabelle (Shabeellaha Dhexe) region of Somalia. History Adale was mentioned in the Periplus of the Erythraean Sea, written by an anonymous writer who lived in the first century AD when Egypt was occupied by the Romans. Adale then appeared in the reports of Ibn Batuta and other explorers from Andulus. When the trade between East Africa, Arabia, and India boomed in the 1700s-1800s, Adale bordered the 10-mile strip of the Benadir Coast in which Zanzibar’s Omani rulers claimed. With exception to 5 nautical miles of Warsheikh, the rest of the strip included Mogadishu, Marka, Baraawe, and Kismayo – all the way to Zanzibar. The later ruins of Filonardi's fort can also be found in the Adale. During the pre-independence period in Italian Somaliland, the city was chosen by Vincenzo Filonardi as the headquarters of his newly created "Somalia Italiana". There was fierce anti-colonial resistance to this in Ad ...
