Ziynet Sali Safter (born 29 April 1975) is a Cypriot singer who also holds British citizenship. Her later works contain pop elements while her earlier works also had rebetiko and classical Turkish music themes. Sali was born in Nicosia and then moved to England with her family. She returned to Cyprus in 1981 and completed her education until high school degree in there. In 1994, she moved to Istanbul to study and in 1999, she graduated from the ITU Turkish Music State Conservatory. She started to perform as a professional vocalist while studying. Volkan Konak (27 February 1967 – 31 March 2025) was a Turkish folk singer from the eastern Black Sea. His song "Cerrahpaşa" was a great success and his album, ''Mora'', released in 2006, was awarded a gold plaque by the Turkish recording producers association, MÜ-YAP. Early life Konak was born in 1967 in the village of Yeşilyurt in the Maçka district of Trabzon. After completing his primary, secondary and high school education in Maçka, he entered the Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory in 1983 with the encouragement of his teacher. He graduated from the conservatory in 1988 and started his master's degree in Social Sciences on folk music at Istanbul Technical University in the same year. Funda Arar (; born 8 April 1975) is a Turkish singer. Funda Arar spent her early childhood in Ankara, where she was born, and later in Muğla and Adapazarı. She studied at Istanbul Technical University's music conservatory, specialicizing in the mandolin. Her first album ''Sevgilerde'' came out in 1999, became a big hit, especially the song "Aysel". ''Sevgiliye'' was released a year later and included hits like "Seni Düşünürüm" and "Cesminaz" in collaboration with Kıraç.
