Israel Jebasingh
Israel Jebasingh is an Indian educator and a former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer who served in West Bengal. He is currently the director of the Officers IAS Academy, Chennai. Early life After completing schooling from Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Jebasingh completed a mechanical engineering degree from Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering at Sriperumbudur. In 2004 he qualified the IAS. Career Jebasingh began his career as a lecturer at Sriram Engineering College, Chennai. He passed the Civil Services Examination (India), UPSC Civil Services exam in 2001 and was appointed as an Indian Railway Traffic Service officer. Sri Venkateswara College Of Engineering
Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering (SVCE) is an institute in Tamil Nadu, at Pennalur, Sriperumbudur near Chennai. SVCE was founded in 1985. The college was established by the Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation (SPIC) group. Sriperumbudur is a town panchayat in the Kanchipuram district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The Civil Services Examination (CSE) is a national competitive examination in India conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to higher Civil Services of the Government of India, including the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, and Indian Police Service. In simple terms it is referred as UPSC examination, and is conducted in three phases: a preliminary examination consisting of two objective-type papers (General Studies Paper I and General Studies Paper II also popularly known as Civil Service Aptitude Test or CSAT), and a main examination consisting of nine papers of conventional (essay) type, in which two papers are qualifying and only marks of seven are counted followed by a personality test (interview). Providing Urban Amenities To Rural Areas
Provision of Urban Amenities to Rural Areas (PURA) is a strategy for rural development in India. This concept was given by former president Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and discussed in his book Target 3 Billion which he co-authored with Srijan Pal Singh. The genesis of PURA can be traced to the work done by Nimbkar Agricultural Research Institute in the early 1990s on Taluka energy self-sufficiency. It was shown in the study that energy self-sufficient talukas can be a new development model for rural India in terms of creation of jobs and better amenities to its population. PURA proposes that urban infrastructure and services be provided in rural hubs to create economic opportunities outside of cities.
