Bülend Ulusu
Saim Bülend Ulusu (1 July 1922 – 23 December 2015) was a Turkish admiral who was Prime Minister of Turkey from the time of the 1980 military coup to the time that elections were allowed in 1983. Biography Ulusu graduated from the Turkish Naval Academy on 15 October 1940 with the rank of a Sub-Lieutenant. He attained the highest possible rank as admiral in 1974, and retired from the military in 1980 as the Commander of the Navy, he was appointed in 1977. As a prime minister he advocated for a closer relationship between Turkey and NATO as well as the member states of the Council of Europe. Ulusu died on 23 December 2015, aged 93. Motherland Party (Turkey)
The Motherland Party (, ANAP) was a political party in Turkey. It was founded in 1983 by Turgut Özal. It merged with the Democrat Party in October 2009. The ANAP was considered a centre-right neoliberal and liberal conservative party that supported restrictions on the role that government can play in the economy and also supported private capital and enterprise and some public expressions of religion. In social policy, it emphasised Islamic values, but represented a different, modern understanding of Islam compared to the Islamist parties; in economic policy it advocated liberalisation and a free market economy. İsmet Sezgin (6 January 1928 – 7 December 2016) was a Turkish politician who served as the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey and Minister of National Defense from 1997 to 1999, as the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly in 1995, as the Minister of the Interior from 1991 to 1993, as the Minister of Finance from 1979 to 1980 and as the Minister of Youth and Sports from 1969 to 1971. Between 1999 and 2002, he served as the Leader of the Democrat Turkey Party, but did not contest any elections. With a history in the Turkish political right, Sezgin had actively participated in the historical Democrat Party led by Adnan Menderes until the 1960 coup d'état. Entering Parliament as a Member of Parliament for Aydın in the 1961 general election, he served continuously as an MP until the 1980 coup d'état, after which he was re-elected in the 1991 general election. Ahmet Hüsamettin Cindoruk (born 8 June 1933) is a Turkish politician and the 17th Speaker of the Parliament of Turkey between 1991 and 1995. He was also the acting president of Turkey in 1993 and the leader of two political parties, notably of the True Path Party.
