Arturo Islas
Arturo Islas, Jr. (May 25, 1938 – February 15, 1991) was an English professor and novelist from El Paso, Texas, whose writing focused on the experience of Chicano cultural duality. He received three degrees from Stanford: a B.A. in 1960, a Masters in 1963 and a Ph.D. in 1971, when he joined the Stanford faculty. Islas was one of the first Chicanos in the United States to earn a Ph.D. in English. Daniel Alejandro Islas (born 19 February 1979) is an Argentine football goalkeeper. Career Islas started his professional career in 1997 with Club Atlético Independiente () is an Argentine professional sports club, which has its headquarters and stadium in Avellaneda, a city of the Buenos Aires Province. The club is best known for its Association football, football team, which plays in the Argentine Primera Divi ... of the Primera División Argentina. In 1999, he dropped down a division to join Club Atlético Tigre where he played until 2002 and then Los Andes between 2002 and 2003. Luis Islas
Luis Alberto Islas Ranieri (born 22 December 1965 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an Argentine football manager and former player. He is the current manager of Peruvian club Ayacucho. A goalkeeper who won the FIFA World Cup with Argentina in 1986, Islas played for the Argentina national team, Independiente, Estudiantes de La Plata and León. Playing career Club Islas started his career as a goalkeeper in Chacarita Juniors in the early 1980s. He earned his nickname ''el loco'' ("crazy") because of his flair and temperament. In late 1982 Islas was transferred to Estudiantes. There, he alternated with Carlos Bertero in the team that won the Nacional championship title in 1983. He was transferred to Independiente in 1986 and played for two years. He then went to Atlético Madrid in 1988 but did not play a game and was loaned to CD Logroñés. Mauricio Islas (born Juan Mauricio Islas Ilescas, August 16, 1973) is a Mexican actor. He is best known for his work in telenovelas produced by Televisa, TV Azteca, Telemundo, and Venevision.
