The Islamic Texts Society (ITS) is a peer-reviewed, British publishing house which concentrates on academic and general titles on Islam. It is registered as an educational charity in the UK. History The Islamic Texts Society was founded in Cambridge, United Kingdom, in 1981.SeMatheson Trust/Publishers Since its inception, ITS has worked in collaboration with scholars including Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, David Burrell, Mohammad Hashim Kamali, Martin Lings, Seyyed Hossein Nasr, Eric Ormsby, and Timothy Winter (Abdal Hakim Murad). NORG
Norg is a village in the northeastern Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Noordenveld, Drenthe. It used to be an independent municipality until 1998. Norg is home to two windmills. History Norg is an '' esdorp'' which developed in the Middle Ages on higher grounds. It was first mentioned in 1149 as Nurch. The etymology of the name is unknown. Norg contains six communal pastures around which houses were built. The Dutch Reformed Church is a 13th century Romanesque church on the Church Brink, which has a saddle-roof tower. Norg developed during the peat exploitation in the area. In 1931, "Vacantie en Rustoord Den en Duin" planned to built a large holiday resort in the forest near the village. Even though their plans did not come to fruition, several smaller resorts have been established in Norg. Al-Ghazali ( – 19 December 1111; ), full name (), and known in Persian-speaking countries as Imam Muhammad-i Ghazali (Persian: امام محمد غزالی) or in Medieval Europe by the Latinized as Algazelus or Algazel, was a Persian polymath. Islamic studies refers to the academic study of Islam, and generally to academic multidisciplinary "studies" programs—programs similar to others that focus on the history, texts and theologies of other religious traditions, such as Eastern Christian Studies or Jewish Studies but also fields such as (environmental studies, Middle East studies, race studies, urban studies, etc.)—where scholars from diverse disciplines (history, culture, literature, art) participate and exchange ideas pertaining to the particular field of study.
