Isidore Proulx
Isidore Proulx (March 13, 1840 – July 28, 1904) was an Ontario farmer, merchant and political figure. He represented Prescott in the House of Commons of Canada, as a Liberal Party member from 1891 to 1904. Proulx was born in Saint-Hermas, Lower Canada in 1840, and he served as clerk for Saint-Hermas for 20 years. In 1861, he married Philomène Lalande. Proulx ran unsuccessfully in the riding of Deux-Montagnes for a seat in the Quebec legislative assembly in 1874. He moved to Plantagenet, Ontario in 1881, where he was a justice of the peace and served five years as reeve for North Plantagenet Township. His first election in 1891 was declared invalid after an appeal but he won the subsequent by-election. Prescott (federal Electoral District)
Prescott was a federal electoral district represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1867 to 1953. It was located in the province of Ontario. It was created by the British North America Act of 1867, and consisted of the County of Prescott. The electoral district was abolished in 1952 when it was merged into Glengarry—Prescott riding. Simon Labrosse (1836 – August 29, 1896) was an Ontario businessman and political figure. He represented Prescott in the House of Commons of Canada as an independent Conservative member (some sources say Liberal) from 1882 to 1891. He was born in Saint-Benoît, Lower Canada in 1836, the son of Pierre Labrosse. He married Marie Ethier in 1861. He was a merchant at St. Eugene, also serving on the council and as reeve for East Hawkesbury Township and as warden in 1874 for Prescott and Russell counties. Marcel Proulx (; born 6 March 1946 in L'Orignal, Ontario) is a retired Canadian politician. Proulx is a former member of the Liberal Party of Canada in the House of Commons of Canada, having represented the riding of Hull—Aylmer from 1999 to 2011. Proulx is a former administrator, businessman, claim adjuster, and executive assistant. He is a former Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Transport and is the current Chair of the Sub-Committee on Private Members' Business of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs and Deputy Chair of Committees of the Whole, frequently being the Acting Speaker.
