Isau-Isau Wildlife Reserve is a nature reserve in South Sumatra, Indonesia. It is home to a large number of species, many of which are Threatened species, threatened or Endangered species, endangered. Formerly Protected areas of Indonesia, protected as Isau-Isau Pasemah Nature Reserve since 1978, the modern Wildlife Reserve was founded in 2014 and is managed by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) of South Sumatra Provinces of Indonesia, Province. The reserve is listed as IUCN protected area categories, IUCN Management Category IV. Geography Isau-Isau is one of South Sumatra's largest nature reserves, at . Barisan Mountains
The Bukit Barisan or the Barisan Mountains are a mountain range on the western side of Sumatra, Indonesia, covering nearly 1,700 km (1,050 mi) from the north to the south of the island. Sumatran Montane Rain Forests
The Sumatran montane rain forests ecoregion (WWF ID: IM0159) covers the mountainous elevations (greater than 1,000 meters) of the Barisan Mountains Range that runs the length of the southwestern side of the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. Sumatran Lowland Rain Forests
The Sumatran lowland rain forests ecoregion (WWF ID: IM0158) covers the lowland forests running the length of the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. The region is one of exceptionally high biodiversity, similar to Borneo and New Guinea islands. Soil erosion is the denudation or wearing away of the upper layer of soil. It is a form of soil degradation.
